Pregnancy Massage
Pregnancy can often cause discomfort as the body adapts to the growing baby inside. Physical symptoms such as hip pain, restless leg syndrome, carpal tunnel, headaches, SPD and general aches and pains can all be relieved with a specialist pregnancy massage.
Although the principles of a pregnancy massage are generally the same as a regular massage, dedicated care and attention is required and an informed approach from a specially-trained therapist. For a massage to be safe in pregnancy, a more focused approach and knowledge of what would not be suitable is key.
One of the aims of a prenatal massage would be to relieve weight-bearing areas and provide energy to leave the client feeling lighter and brighter. Many pregnant people find the massage makes an enormous difference to their comfort, and helps them to feel supported and nurtured during their journey to childbirth.
At Yellow Door, we are fortunate to have a specialist pregnancy massage therapist – Polly Chadwick can be booked for pre and post natal massage, as well as courses in hypnobirthing and baby massage.
