Counselling
Catherine is an Integrative Counsellor and member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy, having trained at Iron Mill College, Exeter.
She works with young adult to elderly clients experiencing a wide range of issues including bereavement, depression and anxiety, trauma, sexual and domestic abuse, affects of menopause, life transitions, relationship difficulties and low self-esteem.
Catherine qualified as mindfulness teacher with the University of Exeter in 2018 and with many years of experience in meditation, she can offer this as a way to ground the sessions and guide clients, where appropriate, to engage in an embodied relationship to their emotional world.
Catherine is particularly influenced by systems therapy - which acknowledges the many, often conflicting, parts of a person and existential therapy - a humane approach to the wider context of life situations. She aims to gently challenge where appropriate and guide clients towards the change they seek.
Singing, outdoor swimming, growing veg, and her ukelele keep her feet on the ground and her heart open.
